Persistency in Prayer
God’s love never fails and God will love us to the end, and even more into eternity. Yes, God is faithful, but what of our own faith? Persistence in prayer is not to be understood as trying to change God’s mind, as if God was unwilling to help us in the first place. It’s we who need to change… “Not my will but thy will be done.” His will is our peace. His Garden is our delight. His death on the cross is his gift of faith and a love that heals and saves us all. And will he find a like faith and love coming from us in return for the love he poured out for us? It is not easy to maintain one’s calm in a restless, unhappy world, or to be patient in a world gone mad with constant changes. How to pray amidst the incessant noise and clamor of modern life? Persistencia en la oración
El amor de Dios nunca falla y nos amará hasta el fin, e incluso más en la eternidad. Sí, Dios es fiel, pero ¿qué hay de nuestra fe? Persistir en la oración no debe entenderse como intentar cambiar la opinión de Dios, como si Dios no estuviera dispuesto a ayudarnos desde el principio. Somos nosotros quienes necesitamos cambiar… “No se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya”. Su voluntad es nuestra paz. Su muerte en la cruz es su don de fe y un amor que nos sana y nos salva a todos. ¿Encontrará en nosotros una fe y un amor similares a cambio del amor que nos dio? No es fácil mantener la calma en un mundo inquieto e infeliz, ni ser paciente en un mundo enloquecido por los cambios constantes. ¿Cómo orar en medio del ruido y el clamor incesantes de la vida moderna? Sí, dices, la oración es la respuesta, pero ¿qué es la oración que la convierte en la respuesta? La oración es sencilla, es el don de una persona, el don de Cristo Jesús mismo. Su presencia es un derretimiento de corazones, un compartir de vida y amor, su consideración y perdón mutuo. A veces sus palabras se pronuncian en voz alta, y a veces con el silencio de las lágrimas, pero siempre, siempre está presente con nosotros. Nuestro Señor nunca está lejos y nunca estamos solos.
