Come Holy Spirit

                Today, we celebrate the most glorious Solemnity of Pentecost, the promised Gift of the Father and the Son to Jesus’ disciples. After rising from the dead, Jesus appeared to His disciples for forty days. During those appearances, He offered them proof of His resurrection, continued to teach them, and reminded them of all He had revealed to them about His death and Resurrection, preparing them for the next step of their mission. “While meeting with them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for ‘the promise of the Father about which you have heard me speak; for John baptized with water, but in a few days, you will be baptized with the holy Spirit’” (Acts 1:4–5). As we celebrate the great Solemnity of Pentecost, call on the Holy Spirit in your life. Too often we receive Baptism and Confirmation with a closed mind and heart. We fail to allow the Holy Spirit to become fully active in our lives. Pray to the Holy Spirit today and open yourself more fully to all that God wishes to bestow upon you so that you will become holy and a more active member of His Body, the Church. www.mycatholic.life

Ven, Espíritu Santo

                Hoy celebramos la solemnidad más gloriosa de Pentecostés, el Don prometido del Padre y del Hijo a los discípulos de Jesús. Después de resucitar de entre los muertos, Jesús se apareció a sus discípulos durante cuarenta días. Durante esas apariciones, les ofreció pruebas de Su resurrección, continuó enseñándoles y les recordó todo lo que les había revelado acerca de Su muerte y Resurrección, preparándolos para el siguiente paso de su misión. “Mientras se encontraba con ellos, les ordenó que no salieran de Jerusalén, sino que esperaran ‘la promesa del Padre, de la cual me habéis oído hablar; porque Juan bautizó con agua, pero vosotros dentro de pocos días seréis bautizados con el Espíritu Santo” (Hechos 1:4-5). Mientras celebramos la gran Solemnidad de Pentecostés, invoca al Espíritu Santo en tu vida. Con demasiada frecuencia recibimos el Bautismo y la Confirmación con la mente y el corazón cerrados. No permitimos que el Espíritu Santo se vuelva plenamente activo en nuestras vidas. Ora hoy al Espíritu Santo y ábrete más plenamente a todo lo que Dios desea otorgarte para que seas santo y un miembro más activo de Su Cuerpo, la Iglesia. www.mycatholic.life
