God has Become Human to Renew our Communal Bonds
Today’s Gospel reading points us to the theme of relationship, to call our attention to our bond of union with God and with one another. Through Mary, the daughter of Joachim and Ann, and Joseph, the son of David, God comes to abide with us, taking our nature and dwelling among us: Emmanuel, God with us. The stories of this Sunday invite us to embrace the relationship of communal interest with one another. This Sunday we are exhorted to build up our relationships with one another, the foundation of which God established by dwelling among us. Let us remove the barriers of isolation, tear down the walls of racial division, so that we can connect with one another on the basis of our shared transcendent nature as God’s children. Let us discourage activities that demonize others and diminish our appreciation of our shared humanity. In this season of Christmas, let us build one another up, because God has renewed our humanity by coming among us. www.uscatholic.org
Dios se ha Hecho Hombre para Renovar Nuestros Lazos Comunitarios
La lectura del Evangelio de hoy nos invita a reflexionar sobre el tema de la relación, a prestar atención a nuestro vínculo de unión con Dios y con los demás. A través de María, hija de Joaquín y Ana, y de José, descendiente de David, Dios viene a habitar entre nosotros, asumiendo nuestra naturaleza y viviendo entre nosotros: Emmanuel, Dios con nosotros. Las lecturas de este domingo nos invitan a cultivar relaciones de interés mutuo. Este domingo se nos exhorta a fortalecer nuestras relaciones, cuyo fundamento Dios mismo estableció al habitar entre nosotros. Eliminemos las barreras del aislamiento, derribemos los muros de la división racial, para que podamos conectar unos con otros sobre la base de nuestra naturaleza trascendente compartida como hijos de Dios. Rechacemos las actitudes que demonizan a los demás y disminuyen nuestra valoración de la humanidad que compartimos. En esta temporada navideña, edifiquémonos mutuamente, porque Dios ha renovado nuestra humanidad al venir a vivir entre nosotros. www.uscatholic.org
