Jesus the Shepherd-King
On this last Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King. In a world filled with various forms and types of leadership and authority, we look to Jesus as our true king, the one
who reigns with love, compassion, and selflessness. The king we honor is one who identifies himself with the hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, and imprisoned. He calls us to recognize his presence in the least of our brothers and sisters. God seeks out the lost, binds up the injured, and strengthens the weak. Our shepherd-king knows each one of us by name and desires that none of us should be lost. As we reflect on these readings, we are challenged to examine our lives. Do we recognize Christ as our king and allow him to reign in our hearts? As we honor Christ the King, let us surrender our lives to His loving rule. Let us allow Him to be the King of our hearts, guiding us in acts of kindness, compassion, and love. Let us be a community that serves the least among us, recognizing the presence of our King in their faces. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Jesús el Rey Pastor

En este último domingo del año litúrgico celebramos la solemnidad de Cristo Rey. En un mundo lleno de diversas formas y tipos de liderazgo y autoridad, consideramos a Jesús como nuestro verdadero rey, el que reina con amor, compasión y altruismo. El rey que honramos es aquel que se identifica con el hambriento, el sediento, el extranjero, el desnudo, el enfermo y el encarcelado. Nos llama a reconocer su presencia en el más pequeño de nuestros hermanos. Dios busca a los perdidos, venda a los heridos y fortalece a los débiles. Nuestro rey pastor nos conoce a cada uno de nosotros por nuestro nombre y desea que ninguno de nosotros se pierda. Al reflexionar en estas lecturas, tenemos el desafío de examinar nuestras vidas. ¿Reconocemos a Cristo como nuestro rey y le permitimos reinar en nuestros corazones? Al honrar a Cristo Rey, entreguemos nuestras vidas a su amor. Permitámosle ser el Rey de nuestros corazones, guiándonos en actos de bondad, compasión y amor. Seamos una comunidad que sirva a los más pequeños, reconociendo la presencia de nuestro Rey en sus rostros. En el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo. Amén.
