God Takes a Risk With Us
We all love getting a nicely wrapped gift whether it is for our birthday or at Christmas. We
open and unwarp the gift that has been kindly given to us. Think how the person who gave us the gift
would feel if we didn’t open it; instead we simply put it away and left it unopened. We have all been
given gifts and talents by God. The important thing is not what I have been given, but how I use what I have been given. God calls us, God loves and as we see in this gospel, God also trusts us. Our talents are not just for ourselves; they are meant to be used to proclaim the gospel and build the Kingdom of God. We can’t simply sit, wait and do nothing. We are to live our daily lives in such a way that we use all the many gifts and talents God has given each of us. When the Lord does return, each of us will be held accountable for the use of our gifts and how we have lived our lives. May we choose the path and a life of faithfulness and fruitfulness which leads to blessedness and a share in God’s joy. May God say to each of us, well done, good and faithful servant.

Dios se Arriesga con Nosotros
A todos nos encanta recibir un regalo bien envuelto, ya sea para nuestro cumpleaños o Navidad. Abrimos y desenvolvemos el regalo que amablemente nos ha sido otorgado. Piensa cómo se sentiría la persona que nos dio el regalo si no lo abriéramos; en lugar de eso, simple- mente lo guardamos y lo dejamos sin abrir. Esta es la situación que se nos presenta este domingo. Todos hemos recibido dones y talentos de Dios. Lo importante no es lo que me ha dado, sino cómo e usado lo que Dios me han dado. Nuestros talentos no son sólo para nosotros mismos; están destinados a ser utilizados para proclamar el evangelio y construir el Reino de Dios. No podemos simplemente sentarnos, esperar y no hacer nada. Debemos vivir nuestra vida diaria de tal manera que utilicemos todos los dones y talentos que Dios
nos ha dado a cada uno de nosotros. Cuando el Señor regrese, cada uno de nosotros seremos responsables del uso de nuestros dones y de cómo hemos vivido nuestras vidas. Que elijamos el camino y una vida de fidelidad y fecundidad que conduzca a la bienaventuranza y a compartir el gozo de Dios. Que Dios nos diga a cada uno de nosotros, bien hecho, buen siervo y fiel.
