OUR FASCINATING FAITH

                Jesus, the Good Shepherd, tells us that he calls his own sheep by name and those sheep respond by following him. Unlike the early disciples, we do not have the benefit of hearing the Lord Jesus call us by name. Or do we? Through the centuries countless men, women, and children have responded to the call of the Lord and dedicated their lives to ministering to God’s people. How often have we heard the phrase, “he or she ‘has the calling’ ”? We need look no further than our own parish to find ways that the call of the Lord is manifested. The Lord Jesus is constantly calling out to us through the celebration of the sacramental life, through the proclamation of the living word, and through the example of those who have put on Christ in Baptism. Today the Lord Jesus, the Good Shepherd, speaks to each one of us, the sheep of his flock. Let us listen for the call to follow him as his disciples. Let us pray for more Vocations, let us pray for others, as well, to hear and heed whatever God is calling them to do with their life as a baptized Christian. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc

          NUESTRA FE FASCINANTE

                Jesús, el Buen Pastor, nos dice que llama a sus ovejas por su nombre y éstas responden siguiéndole. A diferencia de los primeros discípulos, nsotros no tenemos la ventaja de oír al Señor Jesús llamarnos por nuestro nombre. ¿O no? A lo largo de los siglos, innumerables hombres, mujeres y niños han respondido a la llamada del Señor y han dedicado sus vidas a servir al pueblo de Dios. ¿Cuántas veces hemos escuchado la frase “él o ella ‘tiene el llamado’”? No necesitamos mirar más allá de nuestra propia parroquia para encontrar formas en las que se manifiesta la llamada del Señor. El Señor Jesús nos llama constantemente a través de la celebración de la vida sacramental, de la proclamación de la palabra viva y del ejemplo de quienes se han revestido de Cristo en el Bautismo. Hoy el Señor Jesús, el Buen Pastor, nos habla a cada uno de nosotros, las ovejas de su rebaño. Escuchemos la llamada a seguirle como discípulos suyos. Oremos por mas Vocaciones, recemos también por los demás, para que escuchen y atiendan lo que Dios les llama a hacer con su vida de cristianos bautizados.  Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
